What to expect

Simple from start to finish.

Your MRI takes about 90 minutes and does not use ionizing radiation. You'll lie on the MRI table while images are captured in a series of sequences.

A board-certified radiologist reviews your images and prepares your report.

Important screening information: whole-body MRI is an elective screening service. It does not detect every disease or condition and does not replace routine medical care or recommended age- and risk-based screenings. The American College of Radiology has stated that current evidence is insufficient to recommend total-body MRI screening for people with no symptoms, risk factors, or family history of relevant disease. Screening may identify incidental or indeterminate findings that require additional evaluation, testing, or expense.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What does the scan include?

The planned whole-body screening protocol is intended to evaluate major regions including the brain, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and selected soft tissues and joints.

Final coverage may vary based on the imaging protocol used by our partner facility.

Do I need a referral or imaging order?

My Stat MRI is designed for self-pay customers. Arizona imaging facilities may require an appropriate imaging order before performing an MRI.

The exact ordering process will be explained before scheduling, and no MRI will be performed unless all applicable clinical and facility requirements have been satisfied.

What happens if something is found?

If the radiologist identifies an abnormality, the finding will be documented in your report along with any recommended next steps.

You can share the report and images with your primary care physician or another appropriate specialist for follow-up.

Can screening find something that turns out not to be serious?

Yes. Screening MRI can identify incidental or indeterminate findings. Some findings may require additional imaging, testing, specialist evaluation, or other follow-up and may ultimately prove benign or clinically insignificant.

The cost of follow-up care is not included in the My Stat MRI scan price.
